Your rights

Right to Repair
You have the right to carry out certain repairs to your home if we have failed to do them within a reasonable period of time.

For details of the Right to Repair, please ask the Maintenance Department or your Housing Officer.

Right to Improve
You have the right to make improvements to your home but you must first write to your Housing Officer for permission. Permission will only be refused if the work would make the property less safe, cost the Association money, or reduce the value of the property.

Right to Compensation
If we fail to complete a repair within the timescales we have set, you have the right to claim for compensation. In order to do this, you need to put your claim in writing to the Association’s Technical Services Director. We will then assess your claim and if appropriate, agree the level of compensation with you.

If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your claim, you can complain using the Association’s standard complaints procedures.
